Why I Built a Bookish Kingdom (and Gave My Collections Extra Names)

When you wander into my shop, you’ll notice something a little different. Instead of bland categories like “Books,” “Notebooks,” or “Accessories,” you’ll find doors into places with names like The Deepfold, The Grimoire, The Reliquary, and The Phoenix Keep.

Why? Because I wanted my shop to feel less like an online catalogue and more like a storybook library - a little pocket of whimsy in a world that often feels heavy.

A Fantasy Library for Book Lovers

The real world may be burning at the edges, but books give us sanctuary. They’ve always done that. Stories whisk us away to other lands, give us courage when our own feels thin, and remind us of beauty even in dark times.

So when I set out to create a shop for bookish gifts - from handbound classic novels to handmade notebooks and Kindle sleeves - I knew it couldn’t be just a marketplace. It had to be a place of wonder, where every collection felt like stepping into a different wing of an imaginary castle.

The Story Behind the Names

Each of my collections has its own spirit. These names aren’t just labels - they’re portals. You don’t buy “a notebook.” You pick up a grimoire, waiting to hold your secrets. You don’t browse “Kindle covers.” You choose your armour in the Phoenix Keep.

    Why Whimsy Matters (Especially Now)

The truth is, I leaned into this whimsical, medieval-fantasy theme because the world outside often feels sharp-edged and relentless. But here? You get to step into something softer. Quieter. More magical.

And if you’re gifting a book lover, that’s half the joy: not just handing them an object, but letting them unwrap a piece of another world.

    From Fiction to Craft

Behind all the fun naming, the craft is very real. Every handbound book is stitched by hand in my UK workshop (generous use of the term, but we will pretend because whimsy!). Every notebook is handmade. Every Kindle sleeve is handsewn. And every typeset is carefully designed to make reading classics like Jane Austen and Dracula a pleasure again.

The whimsy is the invitation - the workmanship is what keeps you coming back.

    Welcome to the Collection

So why did I choose this theme? Because if you’ve found your way here, you’re not just “shopping online.” You’re a reader, a dreamer, a wanderer of imagined halls. And I wanted you to feel like you’ve stepped into a secret library - one where every shelf has a story and every gift feels like an heirloom.

Welcome to my bookish kingdom. Explore the halls. Find your treasure. And carry a little bit of wonder back into the real world with you.
